About Javier

Javier Latorre is a flamenco legend whose artistry has shaped the world of flamenco dance. Javier’s journey began at just five years old, performing in variety shows and festivals. By sixteen, he had joined the prestigious Ballet Nacional de España, quickly rising to soloist. His talent and dedication propelled him to principal dancer status, cementing his place among flamenco’s elite.

Javier’s career is a dazzling tapestry of performances, choreography, and teaching. In 1988, he founded Ziryab Danza in Córdoba, where he served as director, choreographer, and dancer. His production Hijas del Alba was met with great success, and his choreographic brilliance continued to shine in works like La Fuerza del Destino, Guernica, and Poeta. His collaborations with flamenco greats, including Mario Maya and Vicente Amigo, further solidified his reputation as a visionary artist.

His accolades speak volumes about his mastery. In 1989, he won three national awards at the Concurso Nacional de Arte Flamenco. Five years later, he claimed the first prize in dance at the Festival del Cante de las Minas. His choreographic genius has graced productions for the Ballet Nacional de España, Antonio Canales, and Paco Peña, among others.

Beyond the stage, Javier is a passionate teacher, dedicated to passing on the essence of flamenco to new generations. His classes are an immersive experience, blending technical precision with the raw emotion that defines flamenco. Whether you're a seasoned dancer or a beginner, learning from Javier is an opportunity to absorb the artistry of a true master.

For those who dream of mastering flamenco, Javier Latorre is the ultimate guide. His expertise, passion, and deep understanding of the art form make his classes an unforgettable experience. Step into his world, and let the rhythm of flamenco transform you!
